While each soul is unique and so are your life experiences, healing has universal components, a roadmap with specific stops we all share, and the first stop is Awareness. It's the cornerstone, the foundation upon which all healing, magical practises, and habits and behaviours of everyday life are built on and around. So let's dive deep into what awareness means, why it's so important, and how you can harness its magic at every stage of your healing process.

What is Awareness?

There’s a reason awareness is the first stop on the healing, personal development, magical exploration journey. Your mind is far more powerful than you probably give it credit for and simple bringing awareness to some aspect of your life will begin to manifest changes there. Think of awareness as turning on the lights in a dark room. It's about becoming fully present and conscious of your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It's the act of shining a gentle spotlight on the inner workings of your mind and heart, without judgment or expectation. As soon as you shine the light and properly see what you are working with you can better organize your energy and your efforts to get better results.

The Importance of Awareness in Healing and Energy Work

Awareness is like the key that unlocks the door to transformation. Ninety-five percent of all the decisions you make right now are a result of what is going on in your subconscious mind. This murky, hard to reach place is filled with programs and conditions installed before you were 7 old, and it’s still running the show!!!

So, if you aren’t getting the most from your human experience, practising awareness brings the subconscious to the conscious level allowing you to see things as they truly are, to recognize patterns, triggers, and obstacles that may be holding you back. Without awareness, it's like trying to navigate a maze blindfolded—you might stumble around aimlessly, never finding your way out. You will be essentially be caught in quick-fix superficial actions that will not produce the healing and magical results you seek.

Overwhelmed and Coping

Practice self-compassion. Treat yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would offer to a dear friend. Remember that healing is a journey, and it's okay to stumble along the way. Work with affirmations or mantras to reinforce positive beliefs and intentions. Repeat phrases such as "I am worthy," "I am whole," or "I am enough" as a reminder of your inherent worthiness and power.

What to use Awareness for

Awareness is a skill that anyone can learn to become more conscious of their subconscious programming. The more aware you are, the more you are able to rewire the programming to update and align with a you that feels more like YOU.

Awareness is used to track patterns of thought and behaviour, to pay more attention to inner dialogue, poor coping mechanisms that favor avoidance over facing and being with, and what things trigger you into fear, anxiety or worry.

Using Awareness as a consistent tool in your every day can also help you track the changes that are occurring over time, as well as give insight into recurring patterns and themes that need more attention and love.

With this information you are better able to call your energy and focus back from draining areas like the ruminating over the past where your efforts are no longer useful, as well as the future where you energy can not yet be applied. You learn how to bring your energy home to the Present where all choices live and provide you with a higher level of discernment you can make empowered, magical choices that are best suited to you.
