The Healing Journey: A Roadmap

There comes a time in many lives when you feel a gentle tug at your soul, beckoning you to embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing. It's a journey filled with twists and turns, highs and lows, but one that promises profound transformation and growth. The issue that often stops people is not really knowing what to expect, where to start, or even how long it will take. So, let’s bring some clarity to the healing process and what stops you might expect to make along the way.

Awareness: Healing begins with awareness. Or perhaps more specifically - lack of awareness. You might feel like you don’t know who you are why this certain pattern or that experience keeps happening to you. You recognize that you are in pain, perhaps you have been for a while but something has changed you can’t take it anymore.

Invitation: Each phase offer lessons. In the Awareness phase you are being invited to learn more about your true self as a being of matter and energy. It’s time to look deeper and bring to the surface things that have been running under the surface for so long, you have accepted them as part of your identity. It’s time to reclaim awareness.

  • birth chart exploration

  • love language

  • personality tests

  • energy systems in the body

  • anatomy, specifically your own

Creating a Vision: For some reason, this stop seems quite challenging. Many understand what they don’t want, they know how it feels to be sick, overwhelmed, exhausted, dysregulated and numb, but when asked what would be a healed and whole version of themselves, there is silence. I can understand that it might scary to dream of what could be, especially if it’s been a hot mess up to this point. BUT, knowing the direction you want to go in, helps your entire being redirect it’s energy toward this new path. It’s like an anchor. This might be the most important stop because when the Ego brings resistance, your vision will help keep you steady and determined.

Working with Mindset: Now that you know yourself a bit better and have a direction, it's time to roll up our sleeves and get to work on our mindset. Our thoughts have the power to shape our reality, so it’s time to bring awareness to your thoughts - especially the ones that have been slipping by under the radar. Let these thoughts be your teacher, showing you what needs attention and healing so you can better align with your vision. Challenge those limiting beliefs, reframe negative thoughts, and embrace the limitless potential within you.

Working with Emotions in the Body: This phase can work in tandem with the mindset work as bringing more awareness to core beliefs and thoughts is certainly going to bring up memories, stories, emotions, and experiences that are stored in the body. Somatic work, breathwork, and even simply setting a timer can help to release the pressure and tension that comes when triggered or activated. Practice mindfulness techniques, gentle movement, or body-centered therapies to release tension, process emotions, and cultivate a deeper sense of connection with yourself, and remember this is part of the releasing and rewiring journey that is healing. Shadow Work is challenging but required to move forward.

Activate Play and Practice: Healing can be heavy at times, so it’s important to reconnect with fun and creativity. I love ritual, magic, cards, crystals, gardening, dancing, and painting. Finding activities that bring you joy allow you to express yourself freely. Healing is as much about discovering what lights you up as it is about releasing what no longer serves you. Play also helps connect you to your higher self, your intuition, and your life purpose and will empower you stay with the harder stuff when all you want to do is run!

Keep Growing: Sometimes I hear from people that they’ve done their healing. Or that they engage in a series of coping, quick fixes and call it a day. IF only it were that easy! But with over 60,000 ish thougths a day, with over 90% of them being repetitive and probably leaning towards, negative and with and with anywhere from 20-30 trillion cells in the body - each capable of holding emotional memories, conditioning and programming beyond their function - anyone on the healing path can tell you - when you get on this path YOU NEVER get off!

Healing is an ongoing process of growth and self-discovery. It works more like a spiral, ever turning upwards. There will be days when you feel like you're making leaps and bounds, and others when you feel like you're taking baby steps. And that's okay, because overall you are constantly moving towards wholeness and learning to love yourself more! Embrace the journey, celebrate your progress, and keep showing up for yourself, day after day.
